Who We Are

Alma Twin Cities Seventh Day Adventist Church is located in Alma, Michigan. Our church was formed through the unity of two sister churches, Alma and St. Louis, coming together to build a new spiritual home at the north Alma interchange, where highways 46 & 27 meet. Our church’s history is a testament to the dedication of our members, who volunteered their labor and worked tirelessly under the guidance of Mr. Crawford, one of the denomination’s finest church builders. Together, we constructed a place of worship, not just with bricks and mortar, but with the bonds of fellowship and faith.

Our Vision

Our vision is to be a beacon of hope and a place of spiritual growth in Alma, Michigan. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive community where individuals from all walks of life can come together to worship, learn, and grow in their faith. Through our commitment to Sabbath observance, we look forward to the second coming of Christ, and we embrace the principles of health and diet as a means of caring for the temple of the Holy Spirit. Our vision extends beyond our church walls, as we believe in social responsibility and strive to make a positive impact in our local community.

Our Mission

At Alma Twin Cities Seventh Day Adventist Church, our mission is to share the love of Jesus with everyone we encounter. We believe that love is at the core of our faith, and it’s our calling to extend that love to all people, regardless of their background or beliefs. Through worship, fellowship, and acts of service, we aim to demonstrate the transformative power of Christ’s love in our lives and in the lives of those we touch.

Our Values

Our values are rooted in the teachings of Scripture and the Seventh Day Adventist faith. We hold dear the importance of Sabbath observance, eagerly anticipating the second coming of Christ. We emphasize the principles of health and diet as a way to honor the bodies God has entrusted to us. Baptism by immersion symbolizes our commitment to living a life in Christ. Above all, we value the love of Christ, which compels us to love one another and to be a source of compassion and support for our community.

More About Our History

The Start

Bach (architect), Mrs. Lucinda Jablonski, Kenneth Barnum, Pastor R.W Wiese who serves both churches, Charles Lutz, Kenneth Dice, Truman Berry, and Elmer Wedge.

From the ground up

While trying to keep costs down as much as possible, the two churches’ members all worked tirelessly under the direction of Mr. Crawford, to build their new church. Members worked many Sunday evenings together, helping operate cranes, framing the building, unloading decking from railway cars, transporting materials to building sites, and much more.

Starting to look like a church!

The Twin Cities Seventh-Day Adventist church was constructed with largely volunteer labor in 1967. The members of the Alma and the St. Louis churches consolidated to form the Twin Cities church. It was intentionally named Twin Cities to be inclusive of
both congregations even though the church is located inside the Alma city limits. Dr. Lowell Sheline was instrumental in bringing the project to fruition, and many members worked long and hard to make it happen.
